All right, here’s the scoop: In clinical trials, taking a pre-workout 20 minutes before intense exercise increased participants’ ability to workout harder, longer, and with less fatigue than without it. Why should I take a BCAA?

BCAA’s can help with hormonal balance and muscle building. Amino Acids are the building blocks for proteins. You gotta have them. Studies show that BCAA’s may help decrease recovery time after intense workouts and increase muscle growth. They can also help provide a source of energy during a workout and are thought to boost immunity by replenishing missing nutrients to help your body function optimally.

When is the best time to take a BCAA?

It’s really up to you.  If you haven’t eaten, it’s wise to take a BCAA before your workout to help provide fuel, as long as your body can tolerate it on an empty stomach.  If you’ve eaten, you can sip on it during your workout (our BCAA + provides electrolytes as well so taking it during your workout can help replenish missing minerals and salts to keep you on track), or you can take it post workout.

How can I maximize the benefits of a BCAA?

Some studies suggest that you have a window of up to 5 hours to maximize the benefits of a BCAA supplement post-workout.   Long story short?  Try it before, try it during, or try it after and see how your body responds.  Go with what makes you feel best.  If you’re working out late in the evening, it may be wise to take this as a pre-workout since it doesn’t have caffeine so you’ll get better rest and recover quicker with restful sleep.

How many calories are there per serving?

If you’re a calorie counter, you lucked out, because nothing’s easier than adding a 0 to your total calories.  Our Pre-Workouts have no calories and BCAA supplements have 21 calories.
